Immunizations, Oral and Vision screening

 Immunization Program

Parents of grade 7 and 8 students will be able to book into one of the community immunization clinics being held throughout Durham Region. Clinics will be held in community locations until April 2021.  Parents can book an appointment at durham.ca/immunizationclinics.

 Oral Health Screening

The annual dental screening program conducted in schools is on hold until further notice. Free dental screening services are still available to all children and youth under the age of 18. Dental screenings are scheduled by appointment at the Health Department’s, Oral Health Clinic located in the Whitby Mall. Families with inquiries or who wish to schedule a free appointment can contact the Oral Health Division between 8am – 8pm, Monday to Friday at 905-723-1365 extension 4567.

 SK Vision Screening

The annual SK vision screening conducted in schools is on hold until further notice.

Ontario Association of Optometrists website or call 1-800-540-3837 to find an optometrist in your community. Public Health recommends that all children see an optometrist for an eye exam. A yearly eye exam is free for children up to 19 years of age with a valid Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) card.
